Free digital marketing conference in Norwich

As the city’s digital landscape continues to evolve, Norwich-based digital marketing agency WooContent is set to launch a free, bi-annual digital marketing conference, named Digital iQ.

The first event takes place on Friday 3rd March 2017, running from 1pm until 6pm at The Assembly House. There will be 5 short presentations covering a range of digital marketing subjects with brief Q+As until 4pm, followed by 2 hours of networking between 4pm and 6pm. As well as traditional areas such as content production and ecommerce, talks will include the story behind personal stylist brand www.thread.com and the rise of the professional YouTubers, presented by Norwich’s own Stuart Ashen (www.ashens.com)

Norwich is attracting a greater number of digital marketing businesses, as the city continues to evolve into one of the UK’s most exciting places to work. The University of East Anglia has been instrumental in providing local businesses with a rich pool of talent to choose from, with many candidates completing the city’s illustrious Creative Writing course. Digital advertising and marketing now ranks as the top most notable sector in Norwich, according to City-Tech UK’s annual Tech-Nation report.

Ad-Rank Managing Director and Founder of Digital iQ, Chad Harwood – Jones, says “Norwich has so much individual character and a thriving creative scene. As Ad-Rank developed in London, the need to establish a highly skilled workforce made the capital’s costs prohibitive. After a number of visits it became clear that Norwich would make an ideal home for Ad-Rank’s production team. As a result, we have grown the workforce from nothing up to sixteen people in the first twelve months”.

Digital iQ also runs monthly meetups upstairs at St Andrews Brew House. The next events take place on Wednesday 19th October and Wednesday 16th November, both between 6pm and 8pm.

“There are many great online marketing conferences around the UK, yet Norwich has a large catchment of online marketers that might struggle to get to other parts of the country”, concludes Harwood-Jones. “With this in mind, I decided to start something here in Norwich and support the development of the online marketing industry across the city and beyond. We are hoping to attract people from Ipswich, Cambridge and Peterborough, and even London.

“We have a great panel of speakers who have unique stories to tell encompassing entrepreneurship and digital marketing. We hope their insights and stories will inspire people to go away and think about doing things differently. In the end, we want to inspire entrepreneurism as much as we want to offer attendees some great tips for advancing their digital marketing.”
